Nothing stings more than a broken promise; especially to a child. Their innocent ability to trust a parent, or not, begins to form at a very young age. Rightfully so, children should be able to take an adult at his or her word. If an outing to the park is promised for Tuesday afternoon, guard that calendar time. Apart from an emergency, don’t allow an interruption to pull you away in a new direction. Those who keep promises add a sense of security to their loved ones; and teach the importance of following through with what you say you will do.
Psalm 119:162 NIV I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil.
