May 2014
The month of May has me thinking of summer’s long-awaited return. Warmer days give most of us a case of Cabin Fever. We’re ready to get outdoors and into the sun and fun. Summer opportunities for boys and girls abound but some classes might fill up fast. There are zoo camps, science camps, park activities, church camps, library programs, swim lessons, family vacations and so much more to think about.
What will your summer include? Sometime soon take a couple of hours to talk things through. Do a little investigative research up front so details of classes aren’t fuzzy. The internet and community newspapers are a great resource. Try to tune in to at least one special interest from each family member. Make sure the budget is understood up front so money issues don’t hurry in to steal the joy. This practical step sets the tone for the “requests” before they are made. Planning ahead lessens stress and gives children (and adults) a great summer to look forward to.
Psalms 147:1 NIV Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him!
